If someone told me two years ago, shoot, even just one year ago, that I would be cooking Rachael Ray almost every night in my house I would have laughed. Back then I still had subscriptions to Gourmet and Bon Appetit and hadn't quite lost the grocery spending habits I learned as member of a two-income two-person family where I could cook every night based on what sounded interesting, rather than what happened to be on sale. Also, something about the necklaces Rachael Ray wears really bugs me and that's a good enough reason to not want to cook her food, right?
Fast forward to 2011 and we're a one-income family with two kids and a mortgage; little time and even less money. I had already looked past the neckwear to the Rachael Ray way of life after seeing her "week in a day" tv show and one afternoon I looked through a copy of Rachael Ray's magazine as I waited at the dentist office and I was hooked. As soon as my subscriptions to the fancy foodie mags were up, I sent off for Every Day and haven't looked back. Now I'm cooking up to a month in advance and finding inspiration to make up my own recipes from each issue.
And now I have the opportunity to share Rachael (not Rachel, as I just learned today) with you! I have one one-year subscription to Every Day with Rachael Ray to give away to a reader of Make-Ahead Mommy! Leave a comment on this post telling me what you will do with all the free time you have when you start cooking ahead then check back on Monday to see if you've won.
